lifted from the sticky topic, RSAF FAQs:

And lastly comes the aeromedical checkup at RSAF Aeromedical Centre, where aviation doctors determine your medical fitness and suitability to operate in an unnatural environment which pilots do.

    • u want to know what AOSS do?if you pass your checkup, you'll be posted to airforce school to start your training.. you'll be posted to the technical side for a few weeks for a short course, after that your basic aoss course will begin and last for about 8-10 weeks.

if you get posted to tower, you can be a local assistant and ground controller, or you could go to hq posts like bcp, or acc command, as well as the rest of the other commands..

of course there is the stuff like 203 sqn which manns radar and another squadron that monitor and is more involved in air defence which i cannot say..

    • Another Question

To get straight to the point, im currently now in ADWO. during AOP last week i had signed on for AOSS and yesterday, i had already went for my Aeromedical checkup.

Lieutanant Stanley, the guy who recruits soldiers into AirForce...had told me that the interview and aeromedical checkup will be done as quickly as possible so that no time will be wasted and hence, i can commence my AOSS on time.

as far as i know, AOSS recruits have just finished their orientation this week and shall commence lessons by next week.

i was hoping if i could get hold of a contact number of Airforce Recruitment Center or better still, Lieutanent Stanley, so that i can know when i will be re-vocated to AOSS.

      any answers to my query?
      hope i can find some...thankyou!!!

    • i would like to know...

has anyone sign on for a different vocation during Airforce Orientation Programme?
will you get posted out from your current vocation to the vocation that u signed on?

for example: after BMT, your vocation is AFS. during AOP, you sign on for AMS.
did you get posted out from AFS to AMS?
if yes, then roughly how long after AOP then you get posted out?

just want to know if this has happened before.

      Thank you!!!

    • not sure. anyway..i have new Questions again.

      Okay...here they are:

1a) How does Hospital Leave work?

1b) lets say for example i want to go for Lower Jaw Operation and my vocation is in
AOS. can i still remain as a regular?

      2) im asking this on behalf of my friend.
can a private while in SISPEC sign on with AIRFORCE?
          is it really really cannot?

      3) What is this 2.5 days = 1 day ratio thingy? i don't get it.
something to do with the bond i heard.
my bond is 5 years. so now i have 1 year and 7months left to finish my NS.
so when will my bond end? im age 20 this year.

      4) regarding about FLEX...we can buy Leave...but can we sell?
